In the lower 3 SAR frames on February 19, an area of open water is seen in the central left hand side, and extending out to the right. Dark areas with new ice are especially seen in the upper part of the image, but also a few in the lower part are seen. The grey background in all of the image is a mixture of pancake ice and open water.
