In the 3 SAR frames to the east, open water is seen in the upper right corner and in the lower right hand side of the image. At the northern ice edge are some new ice created. In the central part is the ice covered area very homogeneous, and it exists of a high concentration of pancake ice. In the upper part of the image are some dark features seen, which is new ice in between the pancake ice.
