The shrimp trawler Ocean Tiger of Ocean Prawns A/S is one of the major operational users of the DCRS/DTU sea ice information system. The trawler normally downloads daily updates of several of our products via satellite telephone communication (9600 baud). The products are organized in the form of zip files that are subsequently unpacked on-board, and the navigators may shut down the satellite telephone communication and use the data in an on-board version of the DCRS/DTU ice archive software.
